WARNING - KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE. Late January through early March is mating season for Coyotes and being related to dogs they may regard your dog as a mate or a rival or dinner! Do not let your dogs out alone and do not allow your outdoor cats to roam. Coyote breeding typically peaks in late February and early March, the gestation period averages 58 to 63 days. Male Coyotes can become more aggressive during this time of year, the long and short of it all is that Coyotes always pose a risk to your dog and other small pets. Notes: Kalvin is a male tri-color Hound/Collie mix (we are saying collie because that is our best guess) who is around 1 year old. He does well on a leash, seems housebroken, loves treats, knows how to sit, and has done with another dog that he met. We believe Kalvin lived inside of a home prior to his arrival to us as a stray. He is HW negative, is current on HW prevention, and has been dewormed. Kalvin would be a GREAT addition to anyone's family.

RESCUES: If you are a 501c3 in good standing with VDACS and your are interested in pulling Kalvin into your rescue, please contact us via email, phone, or messenger. Transport help is available.- Kalvin will be neutered prior to adoption.
- We do not cat test at this facility.
- We do require meet and greets with families interested in adopting that have other dogs in the home.
- We do not adopt on a first come first serve basis. We screen our applicants to ensure the best fit for both our shelter pets and your needs as well.
- Adoption of dogs is open to residents of Brunswick, Dinwiddie, Sussex, Southampton and Greensville County areas of Virginia
